Now that you've had a chance to get your feet wet and are somewhat aware of what I'm looking for in the essays, it's time for you to take a step back and analyze your situation. Look at what we've been through so far, look at my feedback on your work, and look at where we're going.

Remember, this is a college course, not a regular high school class. Expectations are higher. Assignments are greater. Bars have been raised.

Now it's your time to assess your standing through words. It is time to express your thoughts, observations (about self or others, or the class), and opinions about 1101.

If you haven't done so already, you are to create a page that you can link all of your work from and create a link on that page titled "Initial Reaction to 1101"

On that page, you are to type up a brief essay on just that...what are your observations?  How would you analyze the class to date? What would have done differently? What would you suggest others to think about before embarking on this voyage? Any and all thoughts are welcome here, but you still must follow some standard English formal writing conventions...

1. proper grammar

2. an intro, body, and conclusion

3. a thesis statement

4. sufficient evidence to support your assertions

This essay is what you need to work on once your Paper #2 is ready for submission (remember that paper #2 is due tomorrow at 1:30).

Finally, you've got a reading homework...read chapter 5 Arguing a Position by Friday. There will be a quiz Friady on that.

Good luck!
